He was born in Malatya in 1967.
He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He became a general surgeon at Ankara Numune Hospital in 1995.
He completed his thesis on gastrointestinal surgery in 1997 at the University of Southampton Medical School, England, where he stayed between 1993-1998, and received his PhD equivalent, M.S (Master of Surgery).
He became Associate Professor of General Surgery in 1999, Professor in 2010, and served as the Head of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine between 2011-2013. He worked as a General Surgery faculty member at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine between 2010-2016, BAU Faculty of Medicine in 2016-2017, and Istinye University Faculty of Medicine in 2018-2022.
-He also served as the Medical Director at Liv Hospital Ankara between 2016-2022. He is currently working as a professor and director at Mahir Ozmen Clinic.
In the fields of general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery at Southampton University Faculty of Medicine in England between 1993-1996 and at AZ Maria Middaleres Hospital in Ghent, Belgium for a while in 1995; In 1996-1997, in the gastrointestinal surgery fields in Norwich-Norfolk and Southampton at various times; He worked in the fields of organ transplantation at Cambridge University Addenbrooke's Hospital and London Kings College Hospital between 2000-2001. In 2001, he worked as a Consultant at Southampton University for a while.
- In 2012, he received his subspecialty in the field of Surgical Oncology.
-He worked as the chief of the 3rd Surgery Clinic in Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt OP (2004-2005) and the 7th Surgery Clinic in Ankara Numune OP (2005-2012).
He received the title of F.A.C.S from the American College of Surgeons in 2001 and the F.R.C.S title of the British Royal College of Physcians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006. He was selected as an International Fellow by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery in 2014, and a Fellow in 2016, and received the title of F.A.S.M.B.S. He also received the F.E.B.S (Hon) title awarded by UEMS in 2016.
